A tenure-track-professorship with the denomination “Pedagogy for disabilities and disadvantages/ Inclusion” is available at the Faculty of Special Education at Ludwigsburg University of Education as of the next possible date. The professorship is financed under the BMBF program, that enables dual staffing in a subject for the period of the junior professorship until the current holder of the position retires.

The subject “Pedagogy for disabilities and disadvantages” at the Faculty of Special Education of Ludwigsburg University combines disciplinary topics in educational science and special education with societal demands in the context of inclusion and participation. Through its research, the professorship is intended to contribute to bridging, developing and anchoring educational science, special education and inclusion education questions and aspects on the long term at the Faculty. The tenure-track professorship offers opportunities for development in a stimulating and dynamic work context at the PH Ludwigsburg. The professorship is funded as part of a BMBF program that enables a double representation of a subject for the period of the junior professorship until the previous holder of the position retires.

The tenure track position is created in the context of the joint program of the federal government and the Länder to promote early-stage researchers. Please note the required qualifications and other requirements set out in section 51 LHG. The successful applicant will receive a fixed-term contract either as a civil servant (“BeamtIn”) with set tenure or as a public employee (“Angestellte/r”). In case of successful (final) review, the person will be appointed as a W3 professor with a tenure (without a further application requirement) in an appropriately simplified appointment procedure as set out in section 48 subsection 1 LHG.   • teaching classes (2 to 3 per Semester) in the subject of “Pedagogy considering disabilities and disadvantages”
  • counselling of students and exams in the courses of the programs “Special Education Teacher” (BA and MA) and in the Master Program “Social work in Special Educational Fields”
  • support and counselling of students in study-related projects, internships
  • contribution to the academic self-administration. Acquisition of third-party funding expected


  • University Degree either in Special Education or Educational Science (with special educational focus) and completed doctoral degree (PHD)
  • areas of specialization with affinity to the denomination: experience and knowledge in special education practice
  • expertise in methods of Empirical Social Research (qualitative and/or quantitative research methods)
  • requirements for tenure-track-professorships according to § 51 LHG BW
