The University of Education is one of six universities of education in Baden-Württemberg with around 6,000 students and over 470 employees. The Ludwigsburg University of Education is a university with the same status as a university with the right to award doctorates and habilitations and focuses on educational science issues in research and teaching. Internationalization is a central theme at the Ludwigsburg University of Education.
The Music Department at Ludwigsburg University of Education offers courses for four school-based and three extracurricular study programmes. It stands for a contemporary breadth of musical genres and teaching/learning methods, combining with practical music and professional practice. The musical ensembles of the Music Department are very popular and enjoy national recognition.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching (9 SWS) in the subject of music in teacher training courses (primary school, secondary school, Europalehramt, special education) as well as in extracurricular courses
- Research in the field of music education/music didactics
- Supervision of school internships
- Examination duties
- Active participation in academic self-administration
- Acquisition of third-party funding and regular publication activities
- Collaboration in the conceptual development of the subject of music
Requirements:
- Completed teacher training in music
- Practical school experience in accordance with Section 47 (3) sentence 1 of the Baden-Württemberg State Higher Education Act
- Several years of experience in higher education in the context of music teacher training
- Above-average doctorate in music education/music didactics
- Postdoctoral qualification or equivalent academic achievements
- Relevant research activity
- In research and teaching, reference to a broad spectrum of musical genres (including popular music) in accordance with the requirements of contemporary music didactics
- Experience in the field of bilingual music teaching methodology is desirable
- Experience in acquiring third-party funding is desirable
- Willingness to participate in academic continuing education
- Competence in modern university didactics desirable
- It is expected that courses will be held in both German and English
