The University of Education is one of six universities of education in Baden-Württemberg with around 6,000 students and over 470 employees. The Ludwigsburg University of Education is a university with the same status as a university with the right to award doctorates and habilitations and focuses on educational science issues in research and teaching. Internationalization is a central theme at the Ludwigsburg University of Education.
The Institute for German Language and Literature at the Ludwigsburg University of Education is divided into the major areas of language didactics/language studies and literature didactics/literary studies; the associated area is voice and speech pedagogy. The members of the institute conduct research on current topics in language and literature didactics that are of social relevance and are at the interface between subject-specific science, subject-specific didactics and pedagogy.
Responsibilities:
- teaching classes (9 credit hours (SWS)) and research in language learning and literary learning (in elementary, primary and secondary schools) as well as linguistics/language didactics and/or literary studies/literature didactics
- supervision of school placements
- examination responsibilities and contribution to the university’s self-governance
Requirements:
- Relevant, completed university degree
- special aptitude for academic work, doctorate in German studies, literature or linguistics, literature or language didactics, habilitation or equivalent academic achievements
- pedagogical aptitude, usually proven by experience in teaching
- Experience in the acquisition of third-party funding
- Research focus in the field of linguistic and/or literary learning
In all other respects, the recruitment requirements specified in Sections 46 and 47 of the State Higher Education Act (LHG) apply as amended. According to § 47 para. 3 sentence 1 LHG, a position whose job description provides for the fulfilment of educational science or didactic tasks in teacher training should, as a rule, only be filled by someone who can provide evidence of three years of school practice.
