The University of Education is one of six universities of education in Baden-Württemberg with around 6,000 students and over 470 employees.The Ludwigsburg University of Education is a university with the same status as a university with the right to award doctorates and habilitations and focuses on educational science issues in research and teaching. Internationalization is a central theme at the Ludwigsburg University of Education.

The department "Language Support" is part of the Faculty of Participatory Sciences and is involved in training for the "Teacher Training in Special Needs Education" and the extracurricular Master's degree in "Social Work in Special Needs Education". The department deals with pedagogical-didactic and psychological-diagnostic issues in the field. The focus in the area of pedagogy/didactics is on questions of language education, teaching, prevention and intervention in early childhood and at school age.

Responsibilities:

  • teaching (9 credit hours (SWS)) and research in pedagogy and didactics in the special focus of language development
  • teaching in special needs education and in special education bachelor’s and master’s degree programs at the Ludwigsburg University of Education
  • supervision of practical school studies (2 SWS)
  • participation in examinations and in the self-administration of the university
  • acquisition of third-party funding expected

Requirements:

  • relevant University Degree
  • special aptitude for academic work, usually evidenced by a relevant doctorate, habilitation or comparable academic achievements (p.e. positively evaluated junior professorship)
  • pedagogical aptitude, usually demonstrated by experience in teaching or training
  • relevant scientific publications with affinity to the denomination
  • relevant school practice according to § 47 Abs. 3 LHG BW
  • experience in raising research grants is desirable
