Full Professorship in Educational Sciences with a Focus on Pedagogy and Didactics in Primary Education
The Ludwigsburg University of Education is one of six universities of education in Baden-Württemberg with around 6,000 students and over 470 employees. Universities of education are equivalent to universities with the right to award doctorates and habilitations and focus on educational science issues in research and teaching. Internationalization is a central theme at the Ludwigsburg University of Education.
The professorship (W3) is expected to cover the broad field of Educational Sciences with a focus on pedagogy and didactics in primary education, including theoretical and empirical approaches as well as core areas of childhood pedagogy, in both research and teaching.
Requirements:
- Relevant degree in Educational Sciences or Teacher Education, preferably in primary education; for Teacher Education graduates, qualification for teaching at primary schools through the First and Second State Examinations or an equivalent qualification.
- Exceptional aptitude for academic research, demonstrated by a completed doctorate, habilitation, or equivalent scholarly achievements, preferably in the field of Educational Sciences with a focus on pedagogy and didactics in primary education
- Established research profile and relevant academic publications in the fields of Childhood Studies, Primary School Research, and the pedagogy and didactics of primary education
- Willingness to participate in academic continuing education
- Pedagogical aptitude, generally demonstrated by teaching experience
- Experience in, or potential for, acquiring third-party funding
- Interest in interdisciplinary and collegial collaboration within a committed team, combined with strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills
- Practical teaching experience according to section 47 subsection 3 sentence 1 of the act on the higher education institutions in the Land of Baden-Württemberg (LHG)
- Courses are expected to be taught in both German and English
