The Ludwigsburg University of Education is one of six universities of education in Baden-Württemberg with around 6,000 students and over 470 employees. Universities of education are equivalent to universities with the right to award doctorates and habilitations and focus on educational science issues in research and teaching. Internationalization is a central theme at the Ludwigsburg University of Education.
Responsibilities:
- Research and teaching (9 SWS) in general studies with a focus on social sciences and in the interdisciplinary field of educational studies
- Supervision of school internships
- Participation in examinations and in the self-administration of the university
- Acquisition of third-party funding and regular publication activities
- Collaboration with other professors in general studies and at the Institute for Social Sciences is expected.
Requirements:
- Relevant completed university degree, preferably first and second teaching examinations, preferably for teaching general studies in primary schools
- Special aptitude for academic work, to be demonstrated by a completed doctorate, preferably in the field of science education with a focus on social sciences.
- Habilitation or equivalent academic achievements in a relevant field
- Research focus in the field of social science general studies with a focus on citizenship education/democratic education
- Pedagogical aptitude, generally demonstrated by teaching experience
- Experience in acquiring third-party funding
- Willingness to participate in academic continuing education
- Events are expected to be held in both German and English
In addition, the official conditions of employment and service tasks specified in sections 46 and 47 of the Landeshochschulgesetz apply in their currently valid version. According to Section 47 (3) sentence 1 LHG, as a rule, only those who can demonstrate three years of school experience should be appointed to a position whose job description includes performing educational science or subject-specific teaching tasks in teacher training.
